Your Bio

My name is Eddie Pierce and I live in Moorpark, California. I've been retired a couple of years and have taken up photography in my spare time. I use a Nikon D200 for the photos you see here on my page. I enjoy photos of the Hummingbirds that check out the feeders on my property. I also love taking photos of my grandkids and their exploits. Some of the other photos you will see on my page are Ham Radio related. Yes, I am a Ham Operator also.

Julio's Passing : On April 16, 2009 Julio Serna Ruiz passed away in the early morning hours. Julio will be truely missed by his wife Eulalia, daughters Maria, Isabel, and Martha. Sons Enrique, Juan, Rudolfo, and Daniel. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. These images were taken the day that Julio was laid to rest (April 22, 2009). Julio was interred at Holy Cross Cemetary in Culver City, California.

3 Million Minutes Assembly : Mrs. Welch was able to experience the dunk tank that the Posse Gang selected for reading 3 million minutes for the whole year. Mrs. Welch was dunked about 15 times and it was a gloomy day to boot. The top two readers (in total minutes) from each class had a chance to throw the ball at the target to make Mrs. Welch drop into the tank. The Posse Gang went crazy when the teachers from Peach Hill stood in line for their chance to dunk Mrs. Welch. Mrs. Welch what a great sport you are to Peach Hill and it's staff.

CVARC Field Day : These photos are of the Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club Field Day operation setup at the National Parks Service center in Thousand Oaks, California. The club had six stations that operated on Morse Code, Single Side Band, Six Meters, and the digital modes. The club had the Shaved Ice company offering a free Shaved Ice to whoever came upto the site on Saturday afternoon. A good portions of the photos (the outside images) were taken by grand daughter Alyssa.
